Can we talk about Kate Gosselin for a minute?

This girl got $7,000 extentions put in, only to have them taken out because her stylist Ted Gibson ( or as I like to call him "Not Nick Arrojo") didn't like the way they were photographing.
Fear not, Clean Slate Kate lovers, because she's getting them done all over again- but just a different color.

Must be nice.

The closest I'll ever get to that is whipping out my box of L'Oreal hair dye a week before the wedding.

Remember once upon a time when she was a nurse turned housewife with a thousand kids? Now she's all sorts of fabulous with $14,000 worth of fake hair, spray tan, and a stint on Dancing with the Stars.

I think I'm slowly joining Team Octomom.

Fabulous December

This month was chocked full of Christmas activites- with a side of wedding. Let's take a look at some of the things that made this month worth saving the best for last:

The Office:
Yeah, I jumped on this bandwagon late, but oh.my.gawd. do I love this show. I just plowed through Seasons 1-4 and I will sell my mother to anyone who will loan me Season 5 on DVD. I am thinking of changing my Facebook status to In a Relationship with Jim Halpert (sorry JEGs). I think what I love about it the most is Michael Scott reminds me so much of my old boss Jack- ironically my boss when I was working for a print company (-and to any of my fellow TGI-ers, Torney was totally Jacks' Toby).

Bridesmaids dresses-

I finally chose them! We are going with Jasmine's B2078 from their B2 collection in the Caymen Blue. I have been having a relationship with this dress since I first saw it. I think it really fits the feeling I am going for- understated class with a whimsical feel.

The Holidays-
I love Christmas. I love the shopping, the family traditions, the food, giving gifts, getting gifts, the Christmas movies (Holiday Inn is by FAR my favorite) and the general feeling of joy that comes with the season. This year was especially special for me because this was the first year I got to wake up next to JEGs on Christmas morning. I promise I have a full low down of Christmas coming up- next week.


Snow-
The NorthEast section of this country got BLASTED with snow the weekend before Christmas. I love snow-- it brings out my inner 8-year-old. I love the calm that comes during the snowfall and I love how pretty everything looks with a fresh blanket of snow.

Let's raise our glass of eggnog and toast not only to the passing of another month, but to the passing of another year. Here's to you, December and 2009. You were filled with ups and downs, lot of joys and a lot of life lessons- but we made it through.

New Moon

Oh yes faithful readers... I am one of those...

Ok ok, before you unfollow me, and shut down your web browser never to return to Lizzie in Progress again, hear me out. I blew everyone off when they told me I should read them. I figured they were the next Harry Potter- great for some, but I just never got into.

But I was wrong. Really wrong. These books were so damn good. Like, consume-my-life-won't-take-a-shower-and-I-have-no-time-for-sleep-or-food good. There was a point [sometime around Eclipse, I believe] that I was praying for all the traffic lights to turn red so I could crack the book open for 28-45 seconds. By the end of the series I hated JEGs because he didn't love me as much as Edward loved Bella. It was bad. REAL bad.

I saw the first movie at my friend JDs place while I was only half way through the book and I HATED it. Seriously.. HATED IT. I was so dissapointed with the first movie that I almost didn't finish the book, let alone the series. After much prodding from my friends, I soldiered on and I am so glad I did. In New Moon, I fell in like with Jacob Black.

That's right. All you chicken heads can keep your Edward. I'll take my Jacob.

Anyway, I flew through the the rest of the books in under two weeks and then a great emptiness filled my life. Where were Bella and Edward? They had left me. When I heard about the unfinished manuscript on Stephanie Meyers' website, I was elated! However, that was only about half of the book, and in less then a week I was back to being empty and alone. I tried to fill the void with a few Jodi Picoult books, but it just wasn't the same. I just couldn't have the same connection to another set of characters. I was like... I was cheating on them. I felt so dirty.

I confess I still haven't finished a book since then. Sure, I've picked up a few- I've even read a couple chapters- but I haven't finished anything. I would have to wait until the next movie came out.

When I saw the first poster for the newest movie, that happy feeling returned to my chest. Bella! Edward! Jacob! You've come back to me! The countdown had begun... 256 days and counting. When it got down to less then a month I started making plans for a viewing party that Saturday. But my bestie had bigger plans.

Chungster snagged us some tickets for the midnight show tonight [tomorrow? I don't know]. So yes, this 28-year-old woman will be standing in line with a bunch of teenage girls while their moms wait in the mini vans parked outside.

I. can't. wait.

Fabulous September

I would like to start this post off with a confession: I totally thought there were 31 days in September, so I wasn't quite prepared for this list today. Oops.

Moving on...
Here is what made September worth trudgin' through.

1. Finding a Venue
We did some power shopping over the last month, but we couldn't be happier with our final choice!


2.All Things Pumpkin Flavored
Lattes, bread, krimpets, beer, pie, whatever- bring it on! I was so giddy when I drove through Starbucks and saw the Pumpkin Spice Latte had return I literally squealed! They guy on the other end of the drive thru was not as excited, though.

3 Fall Television

I love when new shows pop up, and old ones come back. This year I have started watching Glee, Flash Foward, The Office ( I know, I'm behind the times) and Community in addition to my old shows, Dancing With the Stars, Survivor, Entourage, The Amazing Race, Project Runway, Castle, and the Mentalist. I'd like to add Modern Family and Fringe to my repetoire, but I just don't think I can fit them in the schedule. Don't forget that LOST and American Idol will start in January too! *sigh* What did people do before DVR?

But I have to say, if you haven't started watching GLEE yet, do it. This show is hysterical.

4. Doodles turns 4

I'm not quite sure how it happened, but my eldest niece turned 4 on Monday.

I feel so old.

*double sigh*

Well, we've put nine months into this year already! Should I make an obvious baby reference? Nah, I'll save that for next month- when both my sister-in-law and friend Erin pop out some daughters!

Fabulous August

Holy Guacamole, was August a FABULOUS month! So much great stuff happened in this eighth month, it was hard fitting it all into one post!

1. First time home buyers
Our good friends Max and Whitney bought their first house this month! They nabbed a GREAT twin in right outside downtown West Chester that was built circa 1890. We are talking original hardwood floors, crown molding and the greatest windows ever- complete with shutters. They have 4 bedrooms, 2 baths and a walk in closet that I want to have sex with. Yeah, it's that amazing. We spent the weekend helping them paint, but don't worry- as soon as they have furniture I am house crashing!!

2. LOST

I have been a LOST fan since the show began in 2004. JEGs, on the other hand, scoffed at the show. However, he has recently gotten addicted to it. It has been so fun re-watching the older seasons with him and discussing the events of the show. Yesterday he sent me a text that said "I'd fight the smoke monster for you. Just fyi." If that ain't love then I don't know what love is...

3.Outer Banks, N.C.

As I mentioned in another post I had a ridiculously good time in OBX. It was the best vacation I have ever had and I cannot wait to go again next year

4. Cheer Camp

I haven't really talked about it much on here, but I am an assitant Varsity coach for a local high school team. I coached college for four years, took a year or so off and then coached the JV team for the same high school. This year they decided instead of having a small JV and a small Varsity to do one big Varsity and kept me on. I was super stoked.

I was even more stoked when I found out we were switching from NCA to UCA and going to the same cheer camp I went to when I was in high school- Pine Forest! Our girls did so great at camp and I was so super proud of them! One of our seniors won the jump contest, 8 of our girls qualified for All-American, we won first place for our pom routine, 2nd place for our cheer routine and 3rd for the dance routine they dubbed "Extreme Routine". Even though the song for the dance routine is STILL looping through my head , I had such a blast!

..and that's how you get it done.

5. Rocks.

.. and no I'm not talking about pebbles. I'm talking bling, baby, BLING! Not only did I get engaged this month, but so did my good friend JD! She was headed down to Myrtle Beach with her family when her boyfriend, Phil, flew down seperately and surprised her with a diamond ring! How romantic!

And there you have it-another one in the books. August, you were jam-packed with exciting news, new beginnings and fun memories. But pack up your bags and head out because Sepetemer is on it's way- along with my favorite season: autumn.

Fabulous July

Dude.
It is July 31st.
Where the eff did the month go?

Anyway, on to the things that made July like, totally fab.


1. Bahama Mamas
I loved Bahama Mamas when I first turned 21 and drank them all the time. Subsequently, my fancy turned to hard liquor and my love of the Cosmo was born. I never looked back. This past month I made a batch of Bahama Mama for a party, and it was like rediscovering an old flame. I drank copious amounts of it. Much like a one night stand with an ex, I woke up the next morning remembering why we broke up in the first place. Holy hangover. However I had an entire pitcher left over, so now I was commited to finishing what I started...
..and if my analogy is right, I think I just had a baby with my high school boyfriend.
Umm... yeah.

(Random story about Bahama Mamas- today I was at the liquor store stocking up on supplies for OBX . I had a handle of Malibu, a handle of house rum, some 99 bananas, and oh yeah, I'll have some of that Absolut Mandarin behind the counter. As the cashier is ringing me up he says " I wanna go where you are going". HA! OBX BABY!!)

2.Spinal Adjustments.
I have been having a lot of problem with my back for years. I've been to chiropractors who adjust me and send me on my way. I feel good for a little bit- but the pain always comes back. Recently the pain behind my shoulder blade has become unbareable. I looked up some chiropractors in my area and found a Dr. Ben Grisafi. I figured, what they hey, let's give this dude a try. Love him. L-O-V-E him. He really examined me and even took x-rays to determine what the problem was. Turns out the pain that I thought was a knotted muscle, was in fact, my spine. I am now going to physical therapy 3 times a week to fix this:

"His legs is strong, but his back is crooked as a politician"

3. Entourage

JEGs and I have been awaiting the return of Entourage since the season 5 finale. We just discovered this show last year and spent countless hours catching up on the seasons (and when I say "countless", I mean we sat and watched six hours straight). I'm not sure where this season is going, but it's got me hooked.

4. Locks of Love

Earlier in the month some of the girls and one of the coaches of my cheer squad donated their hair to Locks of Love. Let me just say, I am so proud of the girls who showed up. I think 10 girls orginally signed up, but only four showed. As a former teenage girl, I think it takes guts to chop 6+ inches off your hair. Lord know I wouldn't have done it at 16, that's for sure.

As and extra bonus, I was able to get the station out to cover it. If you look closely, you'll see me in the back, with the purple shirt on. LB's gone Hollywood. No, pictures, please.

Well, there you have it ladies and gents- another month come and gone. A tip of the glass to you, July '09. You were muggy, and it rained.. a lot. See ya next trip around the sun.

Fabulous June

I won't lie, June was a rough month. I have been crazy stressed out as well as super busy. But that doesn't mean there aren't some fabulous things about the month of June!

1. The Return of ErinDoyle
Ok, so it wasn't really the return of Erin, but she did come visit from Atlanta during the first week of June. And on that Saturday she was surprise baby shower. She is popping out her first little munchkin in October and I am so super excited for her!!

2. Tiger Lilies

Tigerlilies are my all time favorite flowers. You've probably seem them on the side of the road or around your neighbors mailboxes. They bloom in the middle of June and to me it is the offical beginning of the summer when I see them sprouting on the side of the road!

3. The Hangover

Funniest movie I have seen in a long time. I cannot wait to go to OBX chocked full of quotes.

4. Jon and Kate +8

I am such a sucker for this show. I know it technically premiered in May, but I'm adding it to my June post because I didn't get to start watching it till June (i heart on demand). I fell in love with this show in the second season. I loved watching the day to day tasks with a family of 8. I thought it was amazing how well organized everything was! I bowed down to Kate, Queen of Organization. By Season 4 I was totally over the show, as you could tell Jon was. Watching them going on trips and then home to their multi-million dollar mansion got old really quick. They weren't a humble family anymore- they were super stars. Now it's a guilty pleasure as I watch Kates fall from grace. You have to admit, she is kind of a bitch. And really, what is with that hair??? JK+8 Jon - 9

4. Birthdays and Anniversaries

June is a month chocked full of birthdays and anniversaries in my family. My birthday was on the 13th, Mommacitas on the 7 and Daddy-O's on the 18. My brother Tim and his wife Bryn celebrated their 2nd year of wedded bliss (and about to celebrate their second bundle of joy too!) as well as Erin has 3 years under her belt on the 24th and my friend Whitehall tied the knot two years ago today. And although it's not a wedding anniversary, JEGs and I celebrated 8 years together- but who knows.. maybe there will be a wedding in our future soon!

Fabulous May

I am finally moved in and my apartment looks like an episode of Clean House. I could totally use Trish Suhr to organize my closet.

Anyway, as I'm digging out from under all these boxes, I'd like to take a look back at the month of May and recap what made it so fabulous:

1. Warmer Weather
Pack away those sweaters and break out the flipitty flops- spring is here baby!!! Even though there was that week of cold, rainy weather I couldn't have asked for better temps! Warmer weather brings on fun things such as the pool opening in my complex, BBQs, trips to the shore, outdoor dining, and an excuse to show off my new pedicure! Who could ask for anything more??

2. Birthdays :

Zac and Connie are practically twins!

I love birthdays. I love my birthday, and I love other people birthdays. I love going out and celebrating them and hoping everyone has a great time. May is LOOOOAAADDDED with birthdays! My bestie and life partner, Connie is on the 11th and my Puddin' Pop Zac is on the 12th. I have a week off and then in the last week of May there is 27th- Whitney, 28th- Tim, CoDoc, Jenna, Mandy, Hilary and Skinner, 29th- Mike, 31- JamieDavid and Poppa Gindin.

WHEW!

3. Reality Show Winners:

I love reality shows. My top three favorite are Survivor, Dancing with the Stars and The Amazing Race. I almost always cheer for the underdog (who never wins) but I am happy to say I picked the winners for all 3 shows! So a tip of glass to Tammy and Victor, Shawn Johnson and J.T.!

4. Moving

Last but not least.. I finally moved in with the love of my life. It was a lot of work, but I'm already happier then I've ever been.
