I'm back!!

Fear not, my loyal subjects- I have returned!

I had a fabulous time in OBX and, believe it or not, I got tanned! Shazam!
I will post about my vacation tomorrow. I still have to go through all my pictures and actually remember a whole weeks worth of events. Plus, I am suuuper behind on all of my blogs (and super excited about Shannanigan's house crashing).

But, to hold you over, I will share with you a blonde moment from last night:
I was making my favorite meal, Coconut-Crusted Tilapia. I was having a hard time getting the breading to stick to last filet, the broccoli was starting to boil, a storm was coming, and I was trying to do the laundry at the same time. I was still slightly in vacation mode, so multi-tasking was not my friend.
Now I've worked in restaurants and kitchens for 10 years. I KNOW you don't put water on grease/ grease fire. But I was tired. And hungry. And frustrated with this last $%^& filet. So after I took it off the stove, I spun the frying pan around to the sink and dumped the remainder of the grease down the drain... with the water running. Suddenly smoke filled the room and little bits of coconut breading splattered all over the place.

But hey, on the bright side, at least we know the smoke detector works :)

Always and Forever,
ME

I have totally done this...it all makes sense in the moment...but the moment it's over you can't help but wonder what the heck you were thinking. :)

Also, I think there should be a period of about three days that follows any vacation, like a post-vacation vacation which allows your brain time to adjust back to reality!

Woot! You're home! I missed ya! And guess who won a prize?

I'm kinda feeling similar except for the fact that I've just been going non-stop for the past week and I need some vacation time to decompress. I just have to wait one more month. Then. Hawaii.

Um, I wouldn't be complaining about coconut breading all over my kitchen. It sounds delicious.
